We live in cliches we call life
We hide ourselves
To paint the perfect picture
We live our lives dependent
On the thoughts and conveniences
Of others, we bury ourselves
Try to hide the scars
We tell false tales
We force the laugh
We fake the smiles
And deep down we dead
The spark lost to our eyes
We build walls
Show such bravado
Yet we cower at night
Our flawless public facade
Masking private despair
We are made bare by the image
Reflected in the mirror
Our vulnerability oozing out
Like blood from a cut artery
Our true selves naked before our eyes.
